Dr. David L. Popper

A native South Floridian, Dr. Popper graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He received a Doctorate of Optometry in 1985 from Southern College of Optometry.

Dr. Popper is deeply committed to his profession and his community. He was president of the Broward County Optometric Association and was voted Optometrist of the Year in 1993-1994. He is also a past president of the Resource Group, a business referral organization, and is an active member of the Miramar-Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce. He was recipient of the Chamber's Prestigious Pinnacle award in 1998. He was chosen Small Business Person of the Year by the city of Miramar in 2002. Dr. Popper is also very active in the Eastern Miramar revitalization, serving as chairman of Business Owners of Miramar (BOOM).

Dr. Popper provides comprehensive eye care including the treatment and management of glaucoma, pre and post-operative LASIK, pre and post-operative cataracts, eye infections, minor eye injuries, foreign body removal and prescribing of eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Dr. Popper is happily married to his wife, Luzmila. They have one son, Ethan. He enjoys staying active with tennis, golf and travel.

Raised in Broward County and just minutes from the office location, Dr. Balaguer graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. He received a Doctorate of Optometry in 2004 from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. While in optometry school, he earned clinical honors in the areas of Primary Care and Contact Lenses as an intern and extern during his 3rd and 4th year. He also received the Vision Care Inc. Primary Care Clinical Achievement Award during his 4th year of clinical work.

Dr. Balaguer provides comprehensive eye care including the treatment and management of glaucoma, pre and post-operative LASIK, pre and post-operative cataracts, eye infections, minor eye injuries, foreign body removal and prescribing of eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Dr. Balaguer's certifications include the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) Parts I, II and III along with the Treatment and Management of Disease (TMOD). He is board certified by the Florida Board of Optometry. Dr. Balaguer is member of the American Optometric Association's Cornea and Contact Lens Section, American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association and the Broward Optometric Association.
