Meet Our Miramar Eye Doctors:
Dr. Valle is a graduate of the prestigious Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. He later enrolled at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry where he graduated with a Doctorate of Optometry in 2010. While there, he was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society. His clinical rotations included working at Aran Eye Associates where he gained extensive knowledge in glaucoma, cataracts and LASIK.
Dr. Valle is dedicated to the well-being of his patients and strives to provide the best chairside experience possible. He makes it his priority to educate his patients so they can clearly understand the status of their eye health.
Dr. Valle is a native Floridian having grown up in Hialeah to parents of Cuban descent. He is married and a proud father of two young children. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
A native South Floridian, Dr. Popper graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He received a Doctorate of Optometry in 1985 from Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Popper is deeply committed to his profession and his community. He was president of the Broward County Optometric Association and was voted Optometrist of the Year in 1993-1994. He is also a past president of the Resource Group, a business referral organization, and is an active member of the Miramar-Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce. He was recipient of the Chamber’s Prestigious Pinnacle award in 1998. He was chosen Small Business Person of the Year by the city of Miramar in 2002. Dr. Popper has also been very active in the Eastern Miramar revitalization, serving as chairman of Business Owners of Miramar (BOOM).
Dr. Popper provides comprehensive eye care including the treatment and management of glaucoma, pre and post-operative LASIK, pre and post-operative cataracts, eye infections, minor eye injuries, foreign body removal and prescribing of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Dr. Popper is married and has one son. He enjoys staying active with tennis, golf and travel.
Brenda Castro, OD is a graduate from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She was awarded the gold key international honor society for recognition of her outstanding leadership in class, college and profession. Her clinical experience includes training at NSU, Aran Eye Associates and Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. Castro was born and raised in California. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Chemistry Minor from the Fresno California State University. She also earned her Bachelor’s of Vision Science from NSU.
Dr. Castro strives to give the best patient care possible. She is very passionate about helping the community. She has assisted and led mission trips since 2012 to the countries of Nicaragua, Jamaica and Belize which was her latest mission in 2016.
Dr. Castro is fluent in Spanish and English. Her hobbies include dancing, cooking, traveling, and she enjoys being actively involved in her church.
